Trustees

 

Transform Newham is a Charitable Trust and registered with the Charities Commission as number 1034638. The Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to pursue their duty and ensure the proper running of the charitable trust, its vision, management and legal compliance.

 

The trustees are highly engage local leaders who have other responsibilities and hold a range of callings. Here is a thumbnail sketch of each one.

Simon Clinton

Simon is the chair of Transform Newham and has been the Senior Pastor at Highway Church in Stratford since October 2002.  

 

His desire is to encourage the church to demonstrate compassionately  and communicate contagiously the love of God to the people of our city.

 

Simon is married to Claire and they have two sons - he loves cricket and walking his dogs.

Ferdinando Goodmann

Ferdie is a self employed training consultant who lives in Newham with his growing family.

 

He is much in demand at home and overseas and brings a level of expertise in cross cultural working.

Lanre Akanro

Lanre is the senior pastor of House Of Faith Church in Plaistow, a branch of Kensington Temple London City Church.

 

His passion is to see the Church, the body of Christ working together to demonstrate and communicate the love of God to the people of our community.

 

Lanre is married to Jibike and loves reading, football and walking.

Dave Chesney

Dave is the vicar at Ascension Church in Custom House.

 

Before ordination Dave worked for 18 years in the city as a Senior Sales Manager for HSBC, before swapping his calculator for a dog collar.

 

Dave is married to Sarah and they have two daughters.

Brian Dexter

Brian is an accountant for several local and regional charities, and runs his own too!
He leads 'Bridges', a place where homeless people can find friendship, a breakfast, and advocacy / support to find lasting solutions to their needs.

This work is delivered from Memorial Community Church on the Barking Road, opposite Plaistow Police Station.

Brian is married with grown up children.

Elizabeth leads three Methodist churches in the Newham Circuit: Keir Haride in E16; Bryant Street and Windmill Lane in E15.

She brings a wealth of experience to our Street Pastors Collective, and clearly a geat ability to juggle!

 

Elizabeth is married and lives in Bow, E3 with her children.

Ben Atkins

Benedict has arrived in Newham with a real creative flourish, ably supported by Sarah. They are making a difference in North Canning Town where Ben is curate for St. Matthias and they are engaging in new ways of doing and being community.
