Thinking Allowed
Thinking Allowed is a debating forum for those wanting to engage with the world. Meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, 7.30
May debate: 18th
it takes a village...
Teenagers killing teenagers may be grabbing the headlines in London, but another worry lurks beneath. Far too many young people face exclusion fron mainstream schools, leading to a downward spiral of under-achievement and increased risk of drug abuse and criminality.
So can anything be done? The problem may be complex, but are there ways for Christians to take the initiative and do something practical? If it does take a village to raise a child, what role can churches play in the inner city?
Ray Lewis, director of EYLA and the newly-appointed deputy-Mayor for Youth in London, will be with us to give his take on the issues. Maybe we'll get Boris next!
Next Thinking Allowed will be on 15th June
