Memorial Baptist Church, Plaistow, has a striking red-brick front. But it is looking a little fuzzy around the edges. Would you buy us a brick to replace one that is worn out? It will not only improve the appearance of this imposing local landmark, but will stop water pouring inside the building when it rains.

The worst damaged bricks are on the west tower, in this photo. The cost of replacing bricks, repairing the roofs and fixing the rain damage inside is £200,000. English Heritage has awarded £132,000 towards this and we would like you to help us raise the rest.

You can buy one brick for £5, or a dozen for £50 – or any number you wish. We will give you a picture of the tower showing where your brick(s) will be placed, and you can come along to the church and sign the back of your brick.
