Wanted: Your Old Bike

Bike Newham wants more bikes. We get some from The Wombles (Newham Community Recycling) but need more if we are to encourage more young people to take up cycling safely.

 

Bike Newham runs workshops for young people in cycle safety and maintenance; it also explains fitness and nutrition and gives young people a chance to participate in cycling expeditions and camps.

 

We are aware that not every young person has or can afford a bike and so, as part of the cycle maintenance classes we recycle old bikes and if the young person brings the bike back into service he or she gets the bike. We are collecting (relatively) modern bikes to recycle. It doesn’t matter too much if there is some damage.
