More than Gold

On 25 July 2007 the ten founding members of 'More than Gold' signed a formal document establishing the charity under the Chairmanship of Lord Brian Mawhinney with the aim of formalising the plans for the Christian response to the 2012 Olympics.  The founding members are:

• The Archbishops' Council (Church of England)
• The Bishops' Conference of England and Wales (Roman Catholic Church)
• The Free Churches Federal Council
• Churches Together in England
• Transform Newham
• The Evangelical Alliance
• Afro-Carribean Evangelical Alliance
• London Church Leaders' Group
• Christians in Sport
• The Chair

This represents a very broad based Christian initiative crossing church denominations and Christian agencies.
