 Foundation for Christian Service
In the mid 1990s Jim and Jean Stephens brought Christians in Newham a course entitled 'Foundation for Christian Service'. This course is going to restart in September in conjunction with East London Bible Training Centre, now based in Newham at River Christian Centre.
The 'Foundation for Christian Service' is a practical training course designed to help lay-people establish a firm Bible-based foundation for their Christian faith and discover and begin to develop their gifts for practical service in and through the local church. It consists of 60 studies in 30 nights spread over 3 terms.
Topics covered: Foundations of the Faith, Knowing God, Character Development, Importance of Local Church Commitment, Servant's Heart, Christian Stewardship, Identifying Your Call, Gifts of the Spirit, Developing Gifts and Skills, Releasing Ministry.
The course will run on Thursday evenings 7 - 10 pm from 27 September. The first 2 evenings are open evenings and anyone interested in trying the course is welcome to attend these.
