Our aim is for every child in Newham's primary schools to have the opportunity to meet, in their RE  lessons, local Christians and to discover what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.

We do this by taking small teams of Christians from different churches and cultural backgrounds into Newham's primary schools to teach Christianity, in line with the Newham RE Agreed Syllabus.

 

We also support and encourage churches with school visits, eg the Christmas Journey (an interactive presentation of the Christmas story), the Easter Experience (a variety of creative workshops exploring the resurrection), and Visit a Place of Worship Week.

If you or your church would like to become more involved with schools work, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for volunteers to:

• pray
• work alongside Faith in Schools teachers in the classroom
• assist with school visits to churches, eg Christmas Journey and Easter Experience
• give financially
